Background of Malaria Project In Zimbabwe

Picture
_LUCSA has walked with ELCZ in the HIV/AIDS project since 2002. An HIV/AIDS project evaluation was conducted in 2008 and it was ascertained that malaria was negatively impacting on the progress made by the HIV/AIDS project. In 2010, a malaria project was then launched with the aim of alleviating the impact of malaria on a community that is already burdened with HIV/AIDS.

Goals
To contribute to the reduction of morbidity and mortality due to malaria in the population, in particular, among pregnant women and children under five, including vulnerable population groups.

Strategy
Creating partnerships within ELCZ, communities and Ministry of Health with the aim of preventing the communities from contracting malaria and complications resulting from malaria. Priority is given to pregnant women, children under 5 years od age and PLWHA as they are vulnerable to malaria
